About Generation Rising
Generation Rising is a Canadian Christian charity serving children and schools across Latin America. Through its work, children have access to safe classrooms, caring teachers, and Christ-centred education
The Challenge
Legacy giving is one of the hardest parts of fundraising to get right. Timing matters, and most donors only create or update their Will a handful of times in their lives. Even when someone cares deeply about your mission, they are probably not booking a meeting with their lawyer tomorrow. On top of that, legacy work has traditionally been hard to measure. The payoff often comes years later, which makes it difficult to show clear ROI or report confidently to leadership and boards.
The Solution
Generation Rising was already committed to reporting back to donors (🙌), sending regular print newsletters as part of its fundraising rhythm. Our team at Sidekick recommended that they use the back page to surface gifts in Will.

We introduced Generation Rising to the good folks at Epilogue, and within a few days they were set up and ready to go. From there, donors could click through from the newsletter or email, create a Will from home in about 20 minutes, and request a promo code to have the cost covered. On the organizational side, Epilogue also gave the team real-time visibility into gifts and estimated value, making the results much easier to track and report internally.
The Result

Generation Rising mailed 1,925 newsletter packages and followed up with a short, personal email sequence from the Executive Director. The offer was supported by a dedicated landing page.
To date, the organization reports an estimated current value of $1,205,000. For an organization with an operating budget of around $1 million, the reported gifts represent meaningful long-term value.
